African Market Place draws exotic, creative cultural vendors, cultural foods, fashion, lotions and oils. Arts and crafts, jewelry, books,  educational items and resources in health, nutrition education, physical activity demonstrations, healthy food samples, free health screenings, and various businesses promoting UJAMAA cooperative economics.

The African Market Place also provides forums; workshops and speakers on helping to be part of a Healthy Active Fit community mind body and spirit. Tackling health issues that affect the African American community; free health screenings; the African American Advisory Council will have sign up table and health information booth, where participants receive nutrition education; creative art behavior modification resource information for youth; and a registration booth for follow-up measurement challenge, done approximately (4) months later with 16 follow up contacts. On Saturday the challenge day the AMP will also feature a speech competition
(“What being healthy active and fit means to me” mind body and spirit).
